Mitigation Measures by Nursery Products

  1. Restrict site disturbance to less than 160 acres and purchase offsite conserved habitat. Conserved habitat shall be managed and monitored.
  2. All employees, subcontractors, and construction personnel shall participate in a desert tortoise awareness program.
  3. A permanent tortoise-proof fence shall be installed around the perimeter of the project.
  4. Tortoise clearance surveys were conducted and found no desert tortoise on the site or with a 1/2 mile of the site.
  5. Cross-country vehicle use shall be prohibited and signs posted.
  6. Vehicle speeds shall not exceed 20 miles per hour through the desert tortoise habitat.

Mohave Ground Squirrel

Mitigation Measures by Nursery Products

  1. Trapping surveys were conducted and they determined that no mohave ground squirrels are present within the project area.

Burrowing Owl

  1. Cross-country vehicle use shall be prohibited and signs posted.
  2. Vehicle speeds shall not exceed 20 miles per hour through the desert tortoise habitat.
